It all happens at once for our New Hut Appeal. On Friday 22nd September, our My Donate account received a £780 boost from the sale of revamped laptops, thanks to Leo and Stephen.
Then at lunchtime on Saturday 23rd, Liz Spencer opened a letter with a cheque for £10,000 enclosed! This was from the Garfield Weston Foundation. https://garfieldweston.org/ Thanks to Ted Adams for putting us in touch.
To round off the day, we held our Big Band evening at Fairfield featuring Trinity Swing. The event raised a further £960 for the Appeal.
It was a great evening with music from the era of swing perfomed by Trinity Swing, a fairly new band based at Holy Trinity church.
The kitchen staff (Alison, Roxana and Ruth plus Ian minding the bar) put on a simple banquet of bread and cheese followed by desserts provided by COOK of Northwood.
Thanks to all who helped in making the evening a most enjoyable and profitable occasion.
The New Hut Appeal Fund now stands at an amazing £61,000. Wow!
