A Day to Remember
Monday 11th June 2018. That’s the date when the demolition contractors moved on to the 1st Northwood site and started taking the old hut apart.
Goodbye Old Hut, you’ve served us well!
Explorer News (Issue 93)
This term has seen lots of Duke of Edinburgh
preparation work, culminating in a snowy Easter
weekend on Exmoor. Despite best hopes given by the
weather forecast, snow-covered bogs became a
surprising problem to face. Continue reading “Explorer News (Issue 93)”
Scout Update (Issue 93)
This term we took part in the district Chilly Goat
camp, we had a night hike from Hillingdon back to
Northwood via Ruislip, we went swimming, we went
climbing at Brunel University and we did some
cooking. We walked to the top of the Hogs Back in
snow and we did a session on disability awareness. Continue reading “Scout Update (Issue 93)”
Cub Catch-Up (Issue 93)
Another busy term is coming to an end, one which
saw us hand out over thirty badges earned by the
Cubs this term. Continue reading “Cub Catch-Up (Issue 93)”
Beaver Blog (Issue 93)
The Beavers have had a very busy time this term.
They have completed their International badge and
also their Disability Awareness badge, learning
how difficult it is to push a wheelchair up steps,
down ramps and on bumpy ground and also how to
sign their names and find their way without sight. Continue reading “Beaver Blog (Issue 93)”

And we’re OFF!
Phase 1 of the New Hut Project started this morning. Hillingdon Council has given us permission to extend the width of the site by 8 metres on to the Hogs Back Open Space. Our contractors have begun the process of moving some of the existing fencing and adding in extra sections to enclose our new, larger compound.
Over this coming weekend, a team of volunteers will be starting the task of moving some of our equipment from the hut to storage locations around the neighbourhood. We aim to have most of our equipment moved off site by Jumble time, so that we can start major works immediately after.
A Year Ago Today ….
….. we launched our £100k appeal!
We have amazed ourselves by our own success; the total to date is £88,800 with more in the pipeline. For example, we are one of the Mayor of Hillingdon’s charities of the year and her term of office doesn’t end until May. And don’t forget our very own Quiz Night this coming Saturday, 3rd March which will add more to the coffers.
Keep on fund-raisng!
